Whats the difference between found & black out poetry? Nothing really. Black out poetry is part of the category called Found Poetry – where you find a poem or statement in another source. The biggest difference is the process. Found poetry on its own does not have to involve coloring in or covering up the other words. The words can be cut out or simply circled or highlighted. Black out poetry involves covering up all other text except the words you want to stand out. A lot of really creative art processes can come into play here with the covered areas becoming a piece of art if the person doing the process decides to.
